Dining Room Manager
Hours of Work:
Monday- Friday variety of shifts including 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, and 11:00 am- 7:00 pm
**One weekend per month**
Requirements:
- Food Handlers Certificate
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years in leadership role including management of team members
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Highly personable, and able to develop positive working relationships with residents and colleagues
- Able to resolve problems, complaints
- Collaborative in nature and ability to work under pressure
- Experience in LTC, retirement homes or hospitality related sectors is an asset
- Enjoys working with seniors and family members
- Highly organized
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Previous experience in dining room service required
- Proficient in Microsoft office (word, excel, power point, outlook) and the availability to adapt easily to other software database systems such as Meal Suite
- Adaptable with work hours to meet the needs of the team
- Food Safety Certificate required
- Smart Serve Certification considered an asset
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities in the dining room to improve efficiently and service levels
- Provide ongoing development and coaching or performance management of dining room staff
- Develop expert level use of POS system
- Ensure all training tools are being utilized
- Annual reviews on all dining room staff and develop learning plans when needed
- Regularly check in with residents on their dining experience and manage complaints that arise during service.
- Conduct audits on server completion of cleaning and shift routine tasks and follow up as needed
- All food safety and IPAC guidelines met and followed daily
- Back up for FSM for food orders and inventory
- Schedule dining room staff and manage gaps in schedule
- Hiring of and onboarding of new server staff
- Assist FSM and recreation manager in special events for home
- Develops and maintains an up to date working knowledge of relevant public health and regulatory compliance ensuring all dining services team members are apprised of same
- Fosters an environment of open honest communication
- Other duties as assigned.
