Assistant Director of Care - RPN

Full Time  - Temporary (8 Months)

Focused primarily on Enhanced Care area. 

Includes every other weekend

75 hours biweekly, typically day time or as needed

This role supports the Director of Care in providing excellent customer service to our residents! We are looking for an ADOC who is committed and compassionate about seniors, with prior leadership experience. Successful applicant will have the ability to advocate for residents, is organized  efficient and able to navigate challenging conversations 

 On a regular basis, you will assist the Director of Care:

      • Complete Resident Care Plans 
      • Complete Assessment requirements for Falls Prevention Program, medication administration, heat risk and behavioral management 
      • Participate in Care Conferences and be part of the Multidisciplinary team 
      • Conduct health education to staff and residents 
      • Assist with coverage of PSW shifts when vacancies arise
      • Provide personal care including the use of lifts, and administer medications as required- assist and fill in for PSW/UCP as required 
      • Participate and facilitate committee meetings in the absence of the DOC 
      • Administrative and Clerical tasks 
      • Assist house physician when required
      • Provide customer service and respond to resident concerns and needs
      • Weekend availability required
      • Participate in Emergency / Fire training

 Job Requirements

      • RPN with Current Registration and In good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario 
      • Current CPR and First Aid
      • Certificate in Feeding Assistance and Food Handlers
      • Supervisory/ leadership skills 
      • Medication Administration Skills using EMar system 
      • Point of Care experience 
      • Knowledge of Point Click Care is an asset
      • Experience in Retirement Home setting is an asset
      • Experience using lifts is an asset
      • Knowledgeable of the RHA and The RHRA Legislation's
      • Computer skills, spread sheets, email & word documents 
      • Excellent Customer Service skills. You will posses a can-do attitude and promote a positive work environment for entire team 
      • Excellent Time Management Skills
